To be honest Valencia are a shambles of a football club with the most fickle, turncoat fans in Spanish football...by far
Gary and Phil are obviously there due to the Peter Lim connection with their Salford City project but it will be interesting if he does get to the end of the season...and can put together a team for next season.
He already looks the part...

Not in La liga. 5 draws & 3 defeats (not including Barca game when he sat in stands). Valencia dropped from 8th to 12th with Neill in charge. Lost home CL game to Lyon. Progressing well in Coppa del Rey however & in last 8.

No wins in 8 La Liga games. Have drawn 5 I believe.
Won a Copa del Rey game so have the first leg of the semi final next week ..... v Barcelona

Guardiola was Spain and Barcelona captain but again rare amongst today's top managers.
Klopp was very average as a player.

True cough but they are the exception rather than the rule it seems nowadays. The best managers seem to be average players or those that had to give up the game early.

Ratio of good players becoming successful managers is extremely low. Odds are against it working. Different set of skills needed as a manager.Understanding psychology, motivation and soft skills not just systems, formations, training drills and diet etc..
Neville seems a tad more bright than the average footballer so might make a success as a manager but my instinct is that he will be mediocre and back in the media being hailed as an expert within 3 years :-)

Who will hold their hands up and say they were wrong when he improves them and challenges for the champs league?
Gone up massively in ny estimation with this.
Also good to see (although Moyes fucked up) the slow infection of British football into Spain. The biggest league in the world should export more homegrown managers than it does.
For my money, Neville will still be there at the start of next season.

I don't understand all these people saying that he'll do a good job?
He was a great player and clearly knows a lot about the game but that doesn't mean he's gonna be a good manager.
He might go on and be a great manager but there's just as much chance he'll make a shit one.
